Piriformis Syndrome

Piriformis syndrome can be mistaken for lumbar radiculopathy if not evaluated properly. Both conditions create a localized low back/buttock pain with pain into the lower extremity. Orthopedic and diagnostic testing can differentiate these two conditions, which have different prognosis and treatment protocol.
